Milky's Jurby Hat-Trick - by John Watterson Richard Quayle limbered up for his first full assault on the TT with an impressive hat-trick of wins on Marin Bullock's 600 Honda in Saturday's Jurby South meeting. Virtually a year to the day since the huge practice shunt in the North West, Paul Hunt showed no signs of rust as he blasted into an early lead in the first Centre championship race. Aboard Kevin Cringle's completely rebuilt R1 Yamaha (only three or four minor components were salvaged from the 1999 wreckage) "Big H" led the charge on the first lap of a damp 4.34 mile closed roads circuit. Hot on his heels were Carswell, Paul Duckett and Quayle, plus the amazing Tommy Clucas in his closed roads debut on a standard but very rapid R1. At the close Quayle was over five seconds clear of Hunt, but Duckett had managed to get his Kawasaki in front of Carswell's Yamaha. One of the rides of the race undoubtedly came from Graham Taubman, who came through from a first lap seventh to finish an excellent fifth in front of similarly CBR600 mounted Rob Alton. Up and coming Tim Devlin was seventh in front of the Peel duo of Rob Colvin and red-jacket man Tom Clucas. Tom Clucas Results: First Solo Centre championship (6 laps) - 9th
