2000

The bike was unused during 2000 Season...

1999

After the 1998 TT, the bike was put on display at Motorcycle City, and was later sold to Wyatt Granados who worked there... He competed in the 1999 Junior TT on it and finished 57th, with an average speed of 99.93mph.

1998

Honda Britain CBR600FW new in 1998 and was run under the Motorcycle City colours........it competed in the 1998 Junior TT with Michael Rutter as the jockey (it was supposed to be ridden by Phillip McCallen but he was injured), the second Motorcycle City bike was ridden by Ian Simpson.

Here's what happened:

The start of the Junior and all the leading riders got clean away from the line, some with the occasional wheelie. 9.5 miles down the road at Glen Helen and the leader on the road is Mark Flynn with Paul Dedman and Michael Rutter. The first three away are the first three through the Glen. Jim Moodie looks to be trying to improve on the second place from the morning's Singles race by putting a charge on from the line. He started 8th on the road but has made up a few places and is leading the Junior TT by 4 seconds over Ian Simpson, who is in turn only 1 second ahead of third place Chris Heath. Michael Rutter is in fourth, Richard Britton is fifth and Bob Jackson in sixth. Lap 1 at Ramsey Hairpin and Moodie's lead has been reduced to 3 seconds. Simmo must be making a charge as he has pulled out 5 seconds on new third place man Bob Jackson to have a six second advantage. Rutter has moved up to fourth, only 1 second down on Jackson, and in turn is 4 seconds ahead of the struggling Heath. Marc Flynn, Paul Dedman and Michael Rutter are indicated at Cronk-ny-Mona. Flynn crosses the line first at 144mph with Rutter clocked at 147mph. Dedman next at 144mph, and the leader Moodie at a slower 140mph as a light rain starts to fall. The slower Moodie must have been flying over the Mountain as he has pulled out a further 3 seconds to give him a lead of 6.6 seconds over Ian Simpson No. 12. Michael Rutter, 6.2 seconds down on Simmo, is ahead of Jackson to hold third place at the end of lap one. Heath is fifth and Flynn sixth.

A wet Glen Helen finds the order on the road is Flynn, Rutter and Dedman. On corrected time and Ian Simpson has taken the lead by 1 second over joint second Rutter and Moodie. This is going to be a nail biting race. Jackson, Britton and Simpson went round Glen Helen together, short circuit style with Simmo trying to overtake on the outside. Jackson is a further 9 seconds back in fourth with Heath in turn 9 second back in fifth. Mark Flynn is sixth and local man Paul Dedman is in seventh. This is looking to be the closest race of this years TT. At Ramsey Hairpin for the second time and Michael Rutter is on a mission. He has not only taken the lead, but has pulled out a 6.7 second advantage over second place Simmo. 11 seconds back in third is Jackson with Moodie going backwards to fourth, a further 3 second back. Heath is 6 seconds behind, on time, Moodie and 10 seconds ahead of Flynn in sixth. Rutter and Flynn are indicated at Cronk-ny-Mona almost together. Rutter in to the pits first with Flynn close behind. Rutter nearly fell off the bike as it was being fuelled and left with the filler cap open. He will have to shut it on the move. The back section of his fairing is also loose but should not cause a problem. All the leader are coming in thick and fast, getting in each others' way. Coming in to the pits, Rutter had a lead of 1.9 seconds over Simmo but leaving the pits, Simmo takes the lead by 4 seconds over Rutter. 10 seconds down in third is Bob Jackson with Heath in fourth, Moodie in fifth and Flynn in sixth.

Glen Helen for the third and final time and Simmo's lead is down to 3 seconds over Rutter. So Honda Britain is running 1-2. In third place, 30 seconds down, is Bob Jackson who in turn is 11 seconds ahead of Moodie in fourth. Only 1 second back in fifth is the charging Paul Dedman with Chris Heath a further 2 seconds back in sixth. Flynn is 3 seconds back in seventh.

Ramsey Hairpin for the last time and who will be the leader? And it's Michael Rutter. He's got his head down and can smell a victory. He's passed, on time, and pulled out 3.6 seconds over Ian Simpson on the run from the Glen. Can Simmo answer that over the Mountain as he will have got a board around the course telling him where he is standing on the leaderboard. Bob Jackson is 37 seconds back in third with no chance of making that up on the two charging Motor Cycle City Honda riders. The charging local man Paul Dedman has moved up to fourth place only 7 seconds behind Jackson with Jim Moodie a further 6 seconds back in fifth. Heath is sixth, Flynn seventh and No. 14 David Jefferies in eighth. Riders are pulling in for their pitstops as Rutter crosses the line to finish the Junior TT. Michael pulls in to the winners holding compound and has to wait to see if he has won. He has to wait 1m 20s as that was the starting time between him and Simmo. 1m 26.7s later he is informed by Geoff Cannell that he has won his first TT race. Asked how he got on in the race, he said that the roads were wet. He had a slide coming out of Ballacrane and was held up on the last lap over the Mountain. He kept coming across slower riders on fast sections and thought he lost a lot of time due to that. Ian Simpson was deprived his third win by the excellent riding of Michael Rutter. He said Michael must have been going very hard in the wet conditions but he had a brilliant race.
